Osteoarthritis risk higher for those who need to kneel or stand for work

The results of a new study published in the American Journal of Industrial Medicine have indicated that men who spend a lot of time on their knees for work (as in laying carpets) have a three times higher risk than average of developing osteoarthritis. On the other hand, women doing the opposite, standing for their job, also have a higher risk of developing osteoarthritis.
Osteoarthritis is often called the wear-and-tear arthritis, or degenerative arthritis. So, it does make sense that actions like spending a lot of time on your knees would cause increased stress on the joints.
