How can research on "Runner’s high" help with chronic pain?
Runner’s high is something I’ve heard about but not ever experienced myself. That feeling of everything is good as the body releases its own pain-killing chemicals. But, until now, it wasn’t known if such a thing really did exist.
Thanks to the wonders of modern technology and brain imaging, researchers have found that runners do release endorphins, the body’s pain killers, during a 2-hour run.
But how does this help the every day person who doesn’t run for 2 hours? Because of the researchers know how to get the endorphins released, they may be able to find a way to release them in other ways.
