Physical activity may help reduce arthritis pain
I know - if your joints are aching and you are stiff and sore, one of the last things that might cross your mind is to get some exercise. But, as odd as it sounds, physical activity may actually reduce or relieve arthritis pain.
First - always check with your doctor before starting any exercise program to be sure that you won’t cause any harm to yourself, but once you have the go-ahead, you just may find yourself feeling better.
This article, Physical Activity Is Natural Pain Reliever For Arthritis, reviews the findings of a study published in the journal, Arthritis Care and Research.

If I could move perhaps I could exercise-since both of my hips were frozen, I had no choice but to have replacements placed-this is hoping I then may be able to exercise to relieve my pain-physical activity is all well and good-providing that one is able to do it. After 43 years of nursing the wear and tear on one’s body causes all sorts of physical problems, not the least arthritis-exercise is really great,if appropriate.

Works for me! Since I sold my store and left my relatively sedentary suburban life to acquire a 200 acre farm for retirement, I’ve been quite active improving and maintaining my house and land. And my arthritis does not bother me nearly as much as it used to. I’ve even been able to discontinue all pain relievers, such as Aleve, for all but occasional use.

@dropspinner - I hear you. It’s a vicious circle, if you hurt too much you can’t exercise, if you can’t exercise, you may hurt more. I hope your replacements happen soon and all works out for you.
