Random thought - why does predisone taste so bad??

Why does prednisone have to taste so flipping disgusting. I’m sorry - I can’t swallow a prednisone tablet without tasting it. Ick, ick, ick.
I started a migraine earlier today. For a couple of hours, I lost the vision in the right half of each eye. I knew a migraine was coming so I tried to ward it off with over-the-counter pain relievers but I also knew that the chances were very slim.
The only thing that helps my migraines is a one time high dose of prednisone, prescribed to be many years ago by a neurologist. I have to be careful, I’m only allowed to take one every seven days, so I have to be sure my migraine is bad enough to justify it, but it does work for me 99% of the time. But…. now I’ve got that awful taste in my mouth…why on earth does it have to taste so disgusting????
(I’ve tried all the other possible medications there are available for migraines- mine are the treatment-resistant type, unfortunately).

Migraines stink!
I’m glad that it’s a pill you only have to swallow when you feel the migraine coming on. My doctor put me on a preventative medication that slows the heart rate down. For something that I only suffer occasionally, I’d rather not mess with my heart on a long-term basis.

Hi Merry,
I’ve had some bad reactions to migraine meds with my heart. Imitrix did something that actually felt like my heart was tightening up. It was awful.

Ugh, THANK you! That stuff is NASTY. I thought it was just me. I don’t know if this happens to you, too, but when I take regular prednisone (rather than methylprednisolone), the taste STAYS WITH ME for like 24 hours unless I’m continuously drinking something. It is so, so gross. Ew, ew, ew. Did I say ew? EW.
