Study shows osteoarthritis joint pain may be relieved by pine bark extract
I wonder if this brings a whole new meaning to making our lives more green… (sorry, couldn’t resist.)
According to study findings published in the journal Phytotherapy Research, an extract from a pine tree lowered osteoarthritis symptoms by 56% and joint pain by 55% in the study subjects. The authors also pointed out that, overall, the patients required 58% less pain medication overall - a promising finding in its own right.
Pycnogenol is an antioxidant plant extract from the bark of the French maritime pine tree.
When people live with chronic pain, news of research can be uplifting - particularly if the findings may be less pharmaceutical intensive and more naturally based.
