Study backs up use of Etanercept for JRA
Junior rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) strikes children ranging in age from newborn on up to adulthood (Arthritis: Not just an “old person’s” disease). Treatments for JRA have been spotty in their effectiveness. The medications, although effective in adults, are proving to be not so effective in treating children.
A new study, published in the May edition of Arthritis & Rheumatism, looked at Etanercept as treatment of JRA over the course of 8 year in 70 pediatric rheumatology centers in the US and Canada. The findings were positive. You can read the findings in this article, Study affirms effectiveness of medication for juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
