More talk about Tiger Woods’ knee

The golf world is abuzz about The Knee (Knee pain bring Tiger Woods down for the season). Commentators and sports enthusiasts are wondering if the latest news about Woods’ knee injury and upcoming surgery will mean the end to his incredible golf career. For the most part though, the comments have been fairly positive.

tibia_nc Apparently, Woods not only has a problem with his ACL (Do you have knee pain from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)?), he now has stress fractures - breaks in a bone that are caused by overuse - that need to heal.

tigerWoodsCrouching Knee injuries can come on suddenly or they can build up over time. While golf may not seem - to a non-golfer - to be stressful to the body, the forces required for a good swing can be very hard on the knees, as well as other joints.

In Woods’ case, the fear of arthritis is a real possibility. The overuse of the knee, the three surgeries within five years, are both risk factors for developing arthritis.
