Low vit. D may play role in women’s chronic pain
Low levels of vitamin D in women - but not men - may be contributing to chronic pain.
According to a study published in the journal Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 7000 men and women were studied using pain scores and blood test results to measure their levels of pain and vitamin D. Although there didn’t appear to be any differences in the men, women who had the highest vitamin D levels, between 75 and 99 mmol/litre, had the lowest rates of this type of pain, at just over 8%. Women who had the lowest levels of vitamin D, less than 25 mmol/litre, had the highest rates, at 14.4%.
Yet another interesting bit of information about vitamin D.
